Serving Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Walker and Livingston

Same-Week Psychiatric Care for the Capital Region and Livingston Parish

Same-week appointments by secure virtual visit, with in-person care at our nearest office in Mandeville.

Same-week care

From Prairieville to Livingston, care that doesn't make you wait

If you live along the I-12 corridor or in southeast Baton Rouge, you already know how much of your week disappears into traffic. Between the I-10/I-12 split, Essen Lane and the drive home to Denham Springs or Walker, finding time for your own mental health can feel impossible. Redi-Med Psychiatry was built to remove that barrier. We see patients ages 14 and up across the Capital Region with same-week appointments by virtual visit, so you can meet with a psychiatric provider from home, from your truck in the plant parking lot after a shift, or from a quiet room on your lunch break.

Why "same week" matters

In a 2023 study of psychiatrists in five U.S. states, new patients waited a median of more than two months (67 days) for an outpatient psychiatry appointment.* Two months is a long time to struggle. Sleep slips, work suffers, and many people give up before they are ever seen. Our standard is different: we work to see new patients within one week.

Local pressures

Life in the Capital Region carries its own stress

Every community has its own pressures, and we take time to understand yours.

Flood memories that don't fade

In August 2016 the Amite River crested at a record 46.2 feet in Denham Springs, and about 90 percent of homes and buildings there took on water. Years later, many families still feel a knot in the stomach when heavy rain is in the forecast. That lingering worry is real, and it is treatable.

Shift work on the river

Rotating schedules at the refineries and chemical plants along the Mississippi River corridor can disrupt sleep, strain marriages and leave little room for a regular appointment. Virtual visits can be scheduled around your rotation.

The school-year grind

From high school students in Livingston Parish and Ascension Parish to college students near LSU, academic pressure, social media and big transitions can bring on anxiety, low mood and trouble focusing. We help teens and young adults, and we include parents in the conversation when appropriate.

Long commutes and busy households

Parents who commute the I-12 every day often put everyone else first. Care that fits a lunch break or an evening can make the difference.

Service members and first responders

A heartfelt focus on those who serve

Baton Rouge is home to Louisiana National Guard soldiers, including the 769th Brigade Engineer Battalion, which supported the community during the 2016 floods. The region also depends on police officers, firefighters, EMS crews and dispatchers who answer the call every day. We hold a special commitment to service members, military families and first responders, and we understand the pressure of deployments, drill weekends, long shifts and difficult calls.

Conditions

What we help with

Our providers offer psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for concerns such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorder, sleep problems and stress-related conditions. We also offer TMS therapy at our Mandeville office for people whose depression has not improved with other approaches.

Virtual visits

Virtual visits first, in person when you want it

Most Capital Region patients start, and stay, with virtual visits. If you'd like to be seen in person, our nearest location is our Mandeville office at 4430 Hwy 22, Mandeville, LA 70471, about an hour east along I-12. We also see patients at our Slidell, New Orleans and Belle Chasse offices.

Virtual visits are available to eligible patients located in Louisiana within our current service area. Availability depends on provider schedules, clinical appropriateness, and insurance coverage. Contact us to confirm eligibility.

Baton Rouge area FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Do you have an office in Baton Rouge?

No. We serve the Baton Rouge area through virtual visits. For in-person care, our nearest office is in Mandeville at 4430 Hwy 22, and we also have offices in Slidell, New Orleans and Belle Chasse.

How soon can I be seen?

Our goal is to see new patients within one week. Research shows new patients often wait more than two months for a psychiatry appointment, so we work hard to keep that standard.

What do I need for a virtual visit?

A smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera, a reliable internet connection, and a private spot where you feel comfortable talking. You must be in Louisiana during the visit. We'll send instructions before your appointment.

Do you see teenagers?

Yes. We see patients ages 14 and up. A parent or guardian is involved in the first visit for patients under 18.

Which insurance plans do you accept?

We accept most major plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, PHCS, Web TPA, Tricare, VA Community Care, Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans, and Louisiana Medicaid plans. Call us and we'll check your benefits before your visit.

I work rotating shifts. Can you work around my schedule?

Yes. Virtual visits make it easier to fit care around plant rotations, first-responder shifts and Guard drill weekends. Let our team know your schedule when you call (985) 626-3470.

Ready to talk?

Call (985) 626-3470 to schedule a same-week appointment. It's one phone call, and we'll take it from there.
